“All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work.”
— 2 Timothy 3:16-17

God-centered

We are God-centered because we believe that everything is “from him through him and to him” (Rom. 11:37). The Triune God created the world from nothing and upholds it by “the word of his power” (Heb.1:3). Therefore, the central purpose of our lives is to glorify God and to enjoy him forever.

Gospel-centered

We are gospel-centered because we believe that the gospel (lit. good news) of Christ is the central message of the Bible and “the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes” (Rom. 1:16). The gospel is a true story about death entering the world through sin and God’s radical solution to this problem through the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. The gospel says that we do not receive salvation through good works but the Holy Spirit unites us to Christ by grace alone through faith alone (Titus 3:4-7). Bible-centered

We are Bible-centered because we believe that the 66 books of the Bible are the written Word of God, inspired by the Holy Spirit and without error in the original manuscripts. The Bible is our infallible and divine authority in all matters of faith and life. In other words, the Bible is completely trustworthy in everything God intends to teach about himself, the world, salvation, faith, and how we ought to live.

Confessionally-Reformed

We are confessional because we hold to the historic Reformed faith as faithfully summarized by ancient Creeds and Confessions, especially the Westminster Confession of Faith, the Westminster Shorter Catechism, and the Westminster Larger Catechism. Together these documents form the secondary doctrinal standard (the Bible itself being the only infallible rule of faith and practice) for our denomination, the Presbyterian Church in America (PCA). Officers in the PCA take a vow to “sincerely receive and adopt” these confessional documents “as containing the system of doctrine taught in the Holy Scriptures.”
